Wireless FAQ
-
How does wireless work?
We have several broadcast towers around Burleson county. Once we determine that we can get line of sight to one of these towers at your location we will mount a wireless radio that points at the tower. To power the radio and provide a data connection, we run an ethernet cable into your house or business that will plug into a POE (power over ethernet) adapter.
-
Is it the same as satellite internet?
No. With satellite internet, you communicate with a satellite in the sky. With our wireless internet you communicate with a nearby tower which results in lower latency and better upload performance.
-
What equipment is required and how is it installed?
We install an antenna/wireless radio combo outside on your building using a number of different methods including mounting arms, expanding poles, or even an existing climbable tower that you might already own.
-
Is it secure?
Yes! All of our wireless transmission is encrypted and we don’t collect or sell any of your data.
-
Are there data caps?
Nope! We don’t have any data caps on our wireless plans.
-
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. There is no contract to sign, no hidden fees, and no promotional pricing.
Fiber FAQ
-
Where is Fiber available?
Currently we only offer fiber in the Caldwell city limits.
-
What's the difference between fiber and cable/DSL?
While cable and DSL providers rely on aging copper line infrastructure, we use newer fiber optic lines which allow us to deliver higher speeds and improved reliability.
-
Does it cost more than your wireless internet?
No! If we can deliver fiber internet to your home, you can expect even faster speeds for the same great price.
-
Do I have to purchase or lease any equipment?
No. The only thing you need is a wireless router, we provide everything else. If you don’t have a wireless router we can help you get what you need to get online.
